Ghanaian entrepreneur Desmond Koney, founder and CEO of agritech company Complete Farmer, has joined the global Endeavor Network, marking a significant milestone for Ghana’s startup ecosystem and African entrepreneurship.
Koney was selected following a multi-stage process that culminated in Endeavor’s International Selection Panel in Athens, Greece, in July 2026. He joins a global network of entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders supporting high-growth companies.
Building a bridge between African farmers and global markets
Founded in Ghana, Complete Farmer connects international commodity buyers with smallholder farmers across Ghana and Togo.
The company currently works with more than 72,000 farmers, supported by over 350 field agents and eight fulfilment centres responsible for aggregation, grading, quality control and export logistics. Its international buyers include major retailers such as Aldi and Lidl.
Beyond agricultural trading, Complete Farmer has expanded into farm inputs, equipment and financing. Its credit product uses farm data to help farmers gain access to funding.
Koney’s journey into agriculture was shaped by personal experience. After inheriting his family’s pineapple farm following his father’s death, he encountered challenges faced by smallholder farmers, including limited market access, inconsistent buyers and difficulty accessing financing.
That experience led him to leave his renewable energy venture, Cibus Technologies, and establish Complete Farmer.
Why the Endeavor selection matters
Joining the Endeavor Network gives Complete Farmer access to a global community of founders, investors and business leaders as the company pursues regional and international growth.
Endeavor Nigeria said Koney’s selection reflects the potential of African founders to build companies capable of creating economic impact beyond their home markets.
For Koney, however, the opportunity goes beyond Complete Farmer.
He sees the network as a bridge between Ghana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and the wider global startup community, while creating opportunities to help other Ghanaian entrepreneurs access relationships, knowledge and resources.
Complete Farmer’s growth also highlights the increasing role of technology in connecting Africa’s agricultural producers to global markets.
By combining technology with local infrastructure and human networks, the company is building a model that could help more African farmers participate in international trade.
