Vodacom Tanzania is expanding its telecommunications footprint as its customer base reached 27.7 million in FY2026, alongside a sharp increase in investment in network infrastructure.
The company reported that network investment rose by 85.1%, as it continues to strengthen connectivity and expand its telecommunications infrastructure across Tanzania. The investment comes as demand for mobile connectivity and digital services continues to grow.
The figures were disclosed following Vodacom Tanzania’s 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM), where shareholders also approved a total dividend of TZS 53.5 billion, representing an 18.4% increase.
Vodacom Tanzania CEO Philip Besiimire attributed the company’s performance to sustained shareholder commitment, disciplined investment, corporate governance and the contribution of its employees.
The company said its decade since the first AGM has been defined by continued investment and stakeholder confidence, while its next phase will focus on sustaining growth and delivering value to shareholders.
The latest figures highlight the growing importance of telecommunications infrastructure in supporting Tanzania’s expanding digital economy, with Vodacom positioning network investment as a key part of its long-term growth strategy.
