Telecom Egypt and Huawei Launch Next-Generation FTTR Broadband Service in Egypt

Telecom Egypt has partnered with Huawei to introduce a new Fiber-to-the-Room (FTTR) broadband service, marking a significant step forward in Egypt’s home connectivity landscape. The service extends fiber-optic connectivity directly into individual rooms, delivering faster speeds, lower latency, and more reliable coverage throughout homes.

Unlike traditional home broadband setups that rely on a single router, FTTR brings fiber infrastructure deeper into the home, helping eliminate Wi-Fi dead zones, reduce network congestion, and maintain consistent performance across multiple connected devices. The solution is designed to support bandwidth-intensive activities such as 4K and 8K video streaming, online gaming, remote work, digital learning, and smart home applications.
