Cisco has appointed Ossama Eldeeb as its new managing director for Africa, placing him at the helm of the company’s commercial strategy and operations across the continent.
The appointment comes as African governments and businesses continue to accelerate investments in digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and artificial intelligence.
In his new role, Eldeeb will work closely with customers, governments, and ecosystem partners to drive the adoption of digital technologies and support the development of Africa’s digital infrastructure.
Eldeeb brings more than 26 years of international leadership experience spanning the Middle East and Africa. His career has focused on business growth, strategic partnerships, and technology transformation across multiple markets.
Before taking on his new position, Eldeeb served as Regional Director for Cisco’s Partner Organization across the Middle East, Africa, Türkiye, Romania, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). During his tenure, he led partner transformation initiatives, expanded managed services capabilities, and contributed to regional business growth.
Cisco said the leadership change reflects its continued investment in Africa and its ambition to help governments, businesses, and communities build secure digital infrastructure and leverage trusted technology partnerships.
The company also highlighted the growing opportunities presented by the artificial intelligence era, positioning digital infrastructure and innovation as key drivers of Africa’s future economic and technological development.
Eldeeb’s appointment comes at a time when the continent is seeking to close its digital divide while strengthening its capacity to participate in the global digital economy. His experience across multiple African and international markets could position him to play a significant role in advancing Cisco’s strategy across the region.
