Accra, Ghana GCB Bank PLC has appointed Cynthia Ofori-Dwumfuor as its new Chief Marketing, Communications and Customer Experience Officer, a role created to drive brand relevance, deepen customer engagement, and align the bank’s transformation agenda with Ghana’s fast-evolving financial sector. The appointment underscores GCB’s ambition to strengthen its leadership as a modern, customer-focused bank that combines its 73-year legacy with a bold digital future.
According to Managing Director Farihan Alhassan, the decision reflects GCB’s next phase of growth, with a mandate to unify marketing, communications, and customer experience into a seamless strategy that enhances satisfaction, advocacy, product adoption, and service delivery.
Ofori-Dwumfuor brings nearly two decades of international and pan-African expertise spanning senior leadership roles at Hollard Ghana, Ogilvy Ghana and West Africa, Global Media Alliance, Now Available Africa, and Vox Global in the U.S. She has also consulted for the World Bank’s CGAP, SupaCem, and Enterprise Computing Ltd.
Throughout her career, she has consistently delivered transformative campaigns, brand repositioning, and award-winning initiatives that have earned industry recognition from CIIG, CIMG, IPR Ghana, PRovoke Media, and the Advertisers Association of Ghana.
Her leadership has been widely celebrated she was named CIMG Marketing Practitioner of the Year, listed among PRovoke Media’s Innovator 25 EMEA, Ogilvy’s EMEA Rising Stars, Top 10 Women in PR Ghana, and the 50 Most Influential Young Ghanaians. Beyond corporate leadership, she contributes as an IPR instructor, thought leader in publications like CIM UK’s Catalyst Magazine, and serves as Board Chairperson of the Springboard Road Show Foundation and Board Member of Gold Money Market Fund.
An Accredited Public Relations Practitioner and CIMG member, she holds a Master’s in Professional Communication from Clemson University and a Bachelor’s in Economics from KNUST.
