FirstBank Launches 7th Digital Xperience Centre in Abuja, Reinforces Commitment to Future-Forward Banking.

FirstBank of Nigeria has launched its seventh fully automated Digital Xperience Centre (DXC) in the heart of Area 10, Garki, Abuja, in a strategic push to redefine banking in Africa’s most populous nation. The move cements the institution’s position at the forefront of Nigeria’s digital banking revolution, delivering 24/7 intelligent, paperless services powered by artificial intelligence and cutting-edge cybersecurity systems.

Founded in 1894, FirstBank has long played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s financial landscape. From introducing the country’s first cheques and ATMs to now leading the charge into AI-powered banking, the bank has consistently demonstrated its agility in adapting to technological advancements. The new Digital Xperience Centre is a testament to this legacy offering customers a fully automated experience where they can open accounts, deposit and withdraw cash, and carry out a range of transactions seamlessly, without human intervention.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony held on October 8, 2025, Olusegun Alebiosu, Group Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria Limited, remarked, “The future is digital. We’re building a banking model where convenience meets security, and customer needs are met round-the-clock even on weekends.” Behind the sleek, self-service infrastructure lies a robust security framework. The centre integrates a tri-layered verification system combining biometric data, phone verification, and account details to safeguard users against fraud in real time.

With six DXCs already operational across Lagos, Ibadan, Nsukka, and Abuja, the expansion continues with new centres planned for Kano, Benin, and select university campuses. The bank’s strategy hinges on deploying these hubs in high-traffic urban zones where the demand for 24-hour service is strongest.

Senator Babangida Hussaini (Jigawa North-West), who attended the event, lauded the initiative as a model for digital excellence, noting, “FirstBank has shown that innovation and security can coexist; this is the future we should all aim for.”Idris Ado Ibrahim, Group Executive of Retail Banking, North Division, emphasized the impact of DXCs on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, noting that reduced waiting times and full-day access mark a new era of user empowerment.

The Abuja launch signals more than technological advancement; it reinforces FirstBank’s commitment to financial inclusion. Through platforms like FirstMonie, which has processed over ₦25 trillion in transactions, and now with DXCs, the bank continues to extend modern banking solutions to underserved populations across Nigeria.

As FirstBank continues to evolve into a digital-first powerhouse serving over 42 million customers through 700+ branches and 200,000+ FirstMonie agents, its vision remains clear: to deliver secure, innovative, and inclusive financial services for all Nigerians, anytime, anywhere.
