Yas Tanzania Expands Fibre Connectivity to Homes and Businesses in Dodoma

Yas Tanzania has launched its Yas Fiber service in Dodoma, bringing high-speed fibre connectivity to homes, businesses and institutions in Tanzania’s growing capital.

The rollout is currently available in Ilazo, Ipagala, Swaswa, Mjini Kati and Barabara za Namba, with Yas planning to expand coverage to additional parts of Dodoma as demand grows.

The company said the expansion is designed to support Dodoma’s growing digital economy by giving residents and businesses more reliable access to online services, digital markets, education and remote work.

Yas Fiber CEO Maxime Woimant said the company is committed to supporting the city’s digital transformation by providing connectivity that allows residents to work, learn and operate businesses more efficiently.

The expansion comes as Tanzania continues to strengthen its digital infrastructure. Earlier this year, a consortium involving Yas Tanzania handed over more than 1,100 kilometres of fibre-optic infrastructure and 758 communication towers to the Tanzanian government, strengthening broadband connectivity across key parts of the country.

For Dodoma, the latest fibre rollout could help deepen digital participation among households, entrepreneurs and institutions as the capital continues to expand.

Yas Tanzania’s current consumer fibre plans range from 20 Mbps to 100 Mbps, with unlimited internet packages starting from TZS 55,000 per month.

The broader significance is clear: as African cities become increasingly dependent on digital services, reliable fixed broadband is becoming an important part of the infrastructure required to support businesses, education and economic activity.
