NDPC Certifies Heirs Insurance Brokers for Data Privacy Compliance

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has awarded Heirs Insurance Brokers Limited (HIB) the NDPC Audit Compliance Trust Mark for 2025, recognising the company’s adherence to national data protection and privacy standards. The certification followed the successful completion of HIB’s Data Protection Audit in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA).

According to the Commission, the Trust Mark is granted to organisations that meet required standards for data privacy governance, secure information management, and regulatory compliance. The certification indicates that Heirs Insurance Brokers’ internal data handling systems were assessed and found consistent with NDPC requirements.

Managing Director/CEO of Heirs Insurance Brokers, Tony Aniemeke, described the recognition as validation of the company’s investment in systems designed to protect customer information. He stated that trust remains central to the company’s operations and that the firm is committed to maintaining high levels of security and accountability as it expands customer access to insurance services.

The development comes amid increasing regulatory focus on digital privacy in Nigeria, where businesses across sectors are under growing pressure to strengthen compliance frameworks and protect consumer data. For insurance firms handling sensitive financial and personal records, such certifications are becoming an important signal of operational credibility.

Heirs Insurance Brokers is licensed by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and operates as the brokerage arm of Heirs Insurance Group. The company provides risk advisory and insurance solutions to corporate and individual clients in Nigeria.
