Zoom Communications, Inc. has appointed Russell Dicker as its new Chief Product Officer (CPO), a move aimed at accelerating the company’s artificial intelligence-led product strategy and workflow automation efforts. The appointment was announced on April 15 and took effect on March 30, 2026.
In his new role, Dicker will oversee Zoom’s global product organization, leading the company’s product vision, roadmap, and innovation strategy. He is also expected to play a central role in integrating AI and machine learning across Zoom’s product portfolio.
Dicker brings more than 25 years of experience in product leadership. Before joining Zoom, he served as Corporate Vice President of Product at Microsoft, where he led product management and data science teams for Microsoft Teams. He previously held senior product roles at Google, working on Google Maps, and spent 15 years in engineering and product leadership positions at Amazon.
Commenting on the appointment, Velchamy Sankarlingam said Dicker’s experience building products used by millions would help accelerate Zoom’s AI vision and deliver more automated, outcome-driven experiences for customers.
Dicker said Zoom is evolving beyond a collaboration platform into systems that can capture context and drive action. He added that embedded AI across the platform could help simplify work by connecting conversations, workflows, and outcomes while maintaining the reliability customers expect.
The appointment comes as Zoom continues repositioning itself beyond video conferencing toward enterprise productivity, customer experience, and AI-powered workplace solutions through products such as Zoom AI Companion.
